The Balvenie Portwood gets its name from being first matured in traditional oak casks. It is then transferred to a port cask, which has previously held fine port wines.
This Balvenie is a special edition made for travelers, only available in duty-free shops. This malt spends its second maturation period in casks that formerly held Caribbean rum.
The Balvenie DoubleWood gets its name from being aged first in a traditional whisky oak cask, followed by an original sherry oak cask.
